Posted on March 4, 2026

Media entrepreneur and broadcaster Alistair Soyode has been nominated for the Creative, Media & Entertainment Industry Excellence Award at the upcoming African Business Chamber (AfBC) African Business Awards 2026.

The nomination recognizes Soyode’s contributions to the African media landscape and his role in promoting African stories and diaspora engagement through broadcasting and leadership initiatives. He is the founder of the Nigeria in Diaspora Leadership Forum and also serves as Chairman of Ben Television, a platform known for highlighting African voices and business developments across the diaspora.

According to the African Business Chamber, the Creative, Media & Entertainment Industry Excellence Award honours individuals and organisations that have made notable contributions to the creative sector. The award celebrates achievements across industries including film, television, music, fashion, digital media, publishing, advertising, and the performing arts.

Recipients are typically recognised for helping expand the global reach of African culture, supporting innovation within the industry, and contributing to economic growth through creative enterprise.

AfBC Awards 2026 Timeline

The organisers have outlined the key stages leading up to the awards ceremony:

  • February 28, 2026: Deadline for nominations
  • March 2026: Committee review and technical screening of entries

  • May 29, 2026: Winners will be revealed during the AfBC African Business Awards Gala in London

Celebrating African Excellence

The AfBC African Business Awards aim to spotlight individuals and organisations driving innovation, leadership, and impact across the African business ecosystem and the global diaspora.

The event will bring together entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, and professionals from across Africa and around the world. Organisers say the awards are designed to highlight meaningful achievements and measurable impact rather than popularity or public voting.

The awards gala is scheduled to take place in London on May 29, 2026, where finalists and industry leaders will gather to celebrate excellence across multiple sectors.

Participants and nominees are expected to demonstrate clear evidence of their contributions to business growth, leadership development, and the promotion of African opportunities globally.
