Nollywood actor Jim Iyke during an interview discussing entertainment, faith and spirituality.

‘Entertainment Is Where Demons Live’ — Jim Iyke Explains Why He Believes the Industry Doesn’t Glorify God

Posted on July 8, 2026July 8, 2026 by rosehq_admin

Nollywood actor Jim Iyke has sparked widespread reactions after sharing his views on the entertainment industry, arguing that much of it promotes values that conflict with his Christian faith.

Speaking during an appearance on the Joey Akan Podcast, the actor described entertainment as one of the most influential forces in modern society but questioned whether it encourages values that glorify God.

According to Jim Iyke, the industry’s focus on fame, influence and self-promotion often overshadows spiritual principles.

“There is no bigger enabler than entertainment. This is where demons live,” he said.

‘Entertainment Doesn’t Glorify God’

Expanding on his views, Jim Iyke argued that many aspects of the entertainment industry are built around ideals that he believes are inconsistent with Christian teachings.

“Entertainment is totally orchestrated and created to extol the virtues of Satanism. What in entertainment glorifies God, except you intentionally or consciously go for Him, or pursue Him, or find your place with Him?” he said.

The actor questioned the kinds of values that are commonly celebrated in entertainment, suggesting that success is often measured by popularity and personal recognition rather than moral or spiritual character.

Entertainment’s Influence

During the conversation, Jim Iyke acknowledged the immense influence entertainment has on society, describing it as a platform capable of shaping people’s beliefs, behaviour and worldview.

However, he maintained that individuals working within the industry still have the freedom to choose how they use their talents.

According to him, creatives can intentionally produce work that reflects their personal faith and values despite the broader culture of the entertainment business.

Reactions Online

Jim Iyke’s comments quickly generated debate across social media, with supporters praising him for speaking openly about faith and morality.

Others disagreed with his assessment, arguing that the entertainment industry includes many films, songs and creative projects that promote positive values and inspire audiences.

The interview has added to ongoing discussions about the relationship between faith, celebrity culture and the role of entertainment in shaping society.
